Novel South Capitol is thrilled to be home to the newest café concept from renowned chef, innovator and restauranteur, Erik Bruner-Yang.
Born in Taiwan and raised in the States, Erik Bruner-Yang is a multi-James Beard finalist, and was named Starchef’s Rising Star D.C. Restauranteur in 2018. He has been credited with introducing D.C. to ramen with Toki Underground, creating a dynamic, flavor forward menu at Maketto and even re-imagining what a restaurant feels like with Brothers and Sisters.
Through his Washington, D.C.-based concept development company, Foreign National, he thrives on an alternative dining concept - food and space as commons, creating a constant dialogue of community, culture and progress.
